It’s Always Sunny Stars Making New TV Show Set In A Video Game Studio

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia stars Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day are working on a new comedy set in a video game development studio, according to a new report. Variety reported that Apple–which makes TV shows now–has ordered the untitled show directly to series without a pilot. It will be a 30-minute scripted comedy.

McElhenney will star in the show, while he’s also writing and executive producing with Day. Intriguingly, the show is reportedly being produced in part by Ubisoft. Ubisoft’s Gerard Guillemot, Jason Altman, and Danielle Kreinik are executive producers on the program.

There are no other details available about the show, but keep checking back with GameSpot as we learn more about the show and Ubisoft’s involvement. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will “explore the intricacies of the human condition through hilarious and innovative ways.”

McElhenney was at one point attached to direct the Minecraft movie, but he has since dropped out and the movie has been delayed.

Season 13 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premieres in September, and the show is already confirmed to come back again for Season 14.
