Disney’s New Mulan Gets A Rating No Other Recent Reboot Did
The new Mulan movie from Disney will be the first of the company’s live-action reboots to receive a PG-13 rating in the United States. The official rating from the Motion Picture Association of America states that film will be rated PG-13 for its “sequences of violence,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
All of Disney’s previous live-action remakes, including Aladdin, The Lion King, Dumbo, and others, received PG or G ratings. Mulan also becomes the first Disney movie overall to receive a PG-13 rating since Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017). As the most recent trailer displayed, the new Mulan will indeed have a lot of action and presumably violence as the movie is about war, after all.
